It’s reported that a Pennsylvania man beat, choked, and buried his little six-year-old girl in the family yard because he thought she was lying. It was a “barbaric situation,” according to District Attorney David Russo.
A horrific child abuse case took place in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, in September.
In a police report, the girl is reported to have told investigators that her father, fifty-year-old John Kraft, hit her with a belt. Additionally, he used his arm, which contained a metal rod from prior surgery, to strike her.
It is reported that he buried her overnight in a hole in the yard, according to the daughter.
According to Greene County District Attorney David Russo, “The allegations are that the child was beaten brutally, bruised all over her body, and choked to the point that she passed out.”
Russo added that “She was buried in a hole as punishment. She was thrown in a hole overnight. Her head was slammed off the wall and slammed off the floor.”
Two weeks ago, police interviewed the girl and her sibling. During the interview, they revealed that Kraft had buried the girl in a hole in his backyard. Social workers observed severe bruising on the girl’s body and face in September.
As a form of punishment, the father would place his daughter in the hole in the yard. According to the police report, the girl stated that her father would leave her outside until she decided to tell the truth. When she entered the house, she was dirty and reeked of sewage.
According to WPXI, Kraft has been charged with multiple offenses. The charges against him included endangering the welfare of children, aggravated assault, strangulation, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment, unlawful restraint, and simple assault.
Russo concluded, “My office has always taken a strong stance against child abuse, we will not tolerate it in our county, and this individual will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
John Kraft has been arrested, and the two children have been placed into foster care, according to reports.
