“90 Day Fiancé” Star David Murphey Cause of Death Revealed

David Murphey, a star from the reality TV show “90 Day Fiancé,” passed away on December 11 at the age of 66. His cause of death was reported to be heart-related issues, specifically cardiac arrhythmia and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, according to a spokesperson from Clark County, Nevada. Murphey had a known history of pulmonary embolism, a condition where a blood clot blocks an artery in the lung.

Murphey’s death has been classified as natural. His family made a public announcement earlier this week, expressing their deep sorrow over his passing. The statement read, “David Murphey, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at home on December 11, 2024 after experiencing health issues over the last several years. He was 66 years old.”

The family’s statement also highlighted Murphey’s love for cats and his efforts to provide them with loving homes. They requested fans to respect their privacy during this challenging time and suggested that those wishing to honor Murphey’s memory could make a donation to the Animal Foundation.

Murphey gained fame through his appearance on Season 4 of “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days” in 2020. The show follows couples who have applied for or received a K-1 visa, giving them 90 days to get married. Murphey was featured with his then-lover Lana, whom he met on a Ukrainian dating website. The couple had been dating online for several years before they met in person on the show.

However, their relationship did not last. Murphey and Lana ended their engagement after a disagreement over Lana’s continued presence on dating websites. Murphey had previously discussed the breakup on a 2022 episode of “90 Day Diaries,” where he shared that Lana had expected him to fulfill certain promises, such as English lessons and moving her into an apartment, once they were engaged. However, Murphey had set the condition that Lana must leave the dating websites, which she did not do, leading to the end of their engagement.
