65-Year-Old Woman Brutally Stabbed Taking Out Her Trash

A 65-year-old woman from Queens was brutally attacked by two intruders while she was disposing of her garbage, according to police and inside sources. The assailants were reportedly tampering with doors in the victim’s Flushing apartment complex around 5:40 p.m. on Sunday when they noticed her exiting her residence to discard her trash. The unidentified men ambushed the woman, stabbing her multiple times across her body.

Following the attack, the duo proceeded to ransack the woman’s apartment in an apparent burglary attempt. However, they left the scene without taking anything, police reported. The building superintendent, who wished to remain anonymous, suggested that the suspects seemed to know their way around the building, located on Roosevelt Avenue near Parsons Boulevard.

Surveillance footage reviewed by local media seemed to corroborate the superintendent’s observations, indicating that the criminals were likely familiar with the building’s layout. The video showed one of the suspects holding the door for the other as they entered the building, with one of them wearing a mask that covered the lower half of his face. The same suspect was seen on a phone call, which he ended to guide his accomplice to the elevator.

Upon reaching the fourth floor, the pair immediately turned left. They were seen leaving the building at a leisurely pace, keeping their heads down whenever they passed a surveillance camera. The superintendent noted that the suspects did not venture anywhere else in the building and exited the same way they entered.

After the assault, the injured woman contacted her sister, who also resides with her but was at work during the incident. The sister then alerted the superintendent, who led the responding officers to the scene. The victim was found sitting upright with visible blood stains on her left wrist and chest. She was transported to NY Presbyterian-Queens Hospital and is currently in stable condition.

The superintendent described the victim and her sister as “very nice ladies” who never had any issues with anyone. Tyrone Correa, a 65-year-old bakery distribution manager and neighbor, expressed shock at the incident, describing it as “very odd” and out of character for the typically safe neighborhood. He described the victim as a “nice woman” who is generally private and keeps to herself.
