Jennifer Nicole Rivas, a popular TikTok personality and television host, was found deceased in her home in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, at the age of 21. The news was reported by HCH Televisión Digital on Wednesday. Rivas’ family believes that an epileptic seizure, a condition for which she was being medicated, may have been the cause of her untimely death.
Authorities have confirmed that Rivas’ death was due to natural causes. The young influencer was a prominent figure in the Honduran media landscape, hosting shows on the local television channel CHTV. She was also a rising star on social media, with a following of 100,000 on TikTok.
Following the announcement of her death, tributes poured in from various corners of the Honduran entertainment industry. Among them was a heartfelt message from Gazù Bbx, host of the Honduran podcast “El Showsero TV.” Bbx expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Rivas, whom he described as a person full of energy and enthusiasm.
Rivas was active on social media until her last hours. She posted a photo of herself on a pickleball court on her Instagram account shortly before her death. The caption of the photo, translated from Spanish, read “Getting ready.”
Rivas was not only a social media influencer and TV host but also a student at the National Autonomous University of Honduras, the country’s largest and top-ranked institution. She was pursuing a degree in journalism, as stated in her Instagram bio.
The news of Rivas’ death has left her fans devastated. Many took to her last TikTok video, posted on Monday, to express their grief and pay their respects. One fan thanked her for always believing in them, while others thanked her for the joy she brought to their lives.
Rivas was associated with “Los Venados 504,” a content creation group, before her death. Her passing follows the recent death of another influencer, Tang Feiji, who died during a livestream video in central China.
