A tragic incident unfolded in Montenegro last week when a 19-year-old woman, Tijana Radonjic, fell to her death while parasailing. The Serbian national was vacationing in the coastal town of Budva when the incident occurred. Disturbing footage released by local media outlets showed Radonjic frantically trying to unbuckle her harness and remove her life jacket before she fell over 160 feet into the Adriatic Sea.
The video shows Radonjic, dressed in a bikini, struggling to free herself from the harness before she suddenly disappears from view. The reasons behind her actions remain unclear, and it is not known how long into the flight the incident took place.
Some local reports have suggested that Radonjic may have suffered a panic attack during the flight. Eyewitnesses reported hearing the terrified teenager screaming “Put me down” just moments before she fell.
Radonjic’s lifeless body was later recovered from the sea. The young woman had been approached by a representative of the parasailing company on the beach, who offered her a complimentary flight.
The owner of the parasailing company, Mirko Krdzic, expressed his shock at the incident. He stated that Radonjic did not exhibit any fear before the flight and had undergone the necessary training. Krdzic also mentioned that technical inspections of all the equipment were being carried out and the results of the autopsy were awaited.
The local authorities are still investigating the incident. The tragedy has raised questions about the safety measures in place for adventure sports and the need for stricter regulations.
