The New England region has been gripped by fear and uncertainty following the discovery of 21-year-old Adriana Suazo’s body in a remote area of Milton, Massachusetts. Suazo, a Boston native, was found by a passerby on the morning of June 1 in Milton, a town approximately 8 miles south of Boston. The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office has stated that there were no obvious signs of trauma on Suazo’s body, and the cause of death is currently being investigated by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
This incident is the latest in a string of mysterious deaths that have occurred since March 2025. Over the past few months, at least 13 bodies have been found across Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maine. Many of these bodies were discovered in remote or wooded areas, and the circumstances surrounding these deaths have ranged from dismemberments to unattended deaths.
The frequency and timing of these cases have led to public speculation about the possible involvement of a serial offender. However, local law enforcement agencies and district attorneys, who are investigating each case separately, have dismissed this theory due to the absence of forensic links between the cases.
Among the victims was 35-year-old Paige Fannon, whose body was found in the Norwalk River in Connecticut on March 6, the same day a human skull was discovered near Route 3 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Later in March, the dismembered remains of 58-year-old Suzanne Wormser were found in a suitcase in Groton, Connecticut. Wormser’s roommate was arrested in connection with her death but died shortly after in custody.
The series of mysterious deaths continued into April and May, with bodies discovered in various locations across the region, including New Haven, Foster, Killingly, Pawtucket, Rocky Hill, Taunton, Springfield, and Edgewood Park.
In a statement, Suazo’s sister, Melanie Pizarro, expressed her family’s longing for answers and closure. She stated that while they are not accusing anyone, the circumstances surrounding Suazo’s death are suspicious, and they believe she was with someone either at the time of her death or shortly before.
A vigil was held near the location where Suazo’s body was discovered, with family and friends gathering to remember her and honor her life.
